December 2025 Newsletter

Hello everyone,

Please find below a brief update on Estate matters following the most recent Board meeting.

Annual Contributions for 2026

You should by now have received a communication sent by our administrators, Global Brokers, requesting payment of the Annual Contribution due for 2026 of £625.00 that is due for payment on or before 1st January 2026.  Many thanks to those of you (over 40 as of 1st December) who have paid this already.  We will be very grateful if all owners could ensure that their payments are received by no later than the year end.

If you have received the communication from Global Brokers but are no longer due to make the payment because you have sold the relevant property without OWRA being notified, or if you have not received the communication from Global Brokers, please contact our Treasurer, Rebecca Mayhew, at treasurer@owra.co.uk.

Increased Crime

Those of you who receive the weekly crime reports that Ann Pickering prepares will have noticed an upward trend in the number of burglaries and vehicle thefts within Elmbridge in recent weeks, as often happens at this time of year.  Thankfully, so far as we are aware, there have not been any such incidents within the Oxshott Way Estate for many months, but we urge you all to remain especially vigilant at this time of year with its prolonged hours of darkness.

If any owners who are not already members of the security patrol scheme are interested in joining it, they should contact Graham Marr by email.

Board Changes

We are pleased to announce that Carole Williams, who has lived in the Estate for many years, has joined the OWRA Board.  The intention is that Carole will take over the communications role from Verity Peatfield in the New Year, after an appropriate handover period, allowing Verity to step down having performed this role for over 4 years.  Verity will remain on the Board in the meantime.

Aside from Carole, we have had no further volunteers despite our various requests.  We still need additional resources to refresh the Board and spread the load.  Given that there are probably around 350 people within the Estate who are entitled to volunteer to perform this role, the vast majority of whom have not served on the Board previously, it is disappointing that more owners have not put themselves forward.  Time for a New Year’s resolution…

And finally…

As the year draws to an end, the Board would like to thank all members for the support it has received for the work it has undertaken during 2025, which has been another busy year for the Board, and to wish all members and other residents and their families a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year.

Best wishes,

The OWRA Board.
