June 2026 Newsletter

Hello everyone,

Please find below a brief update on Estate matters following the most recent Board meeting.

OWRA AGM 2026

This year’s AGM took place as planned on Thursday, 23 April 2026 at the Cobham Curve. All resolutions were passed except the last one. The minutes of the AGM will be circulated in due course.

Anti-social noise

In accordance with Elmbridge’s guidelines and in order to avoid anti-social noise, please note that our planning guidelines  (available on our website) stipulate that construction work should take place within the following hours:

·         Monday – Friday: 8am – 6pm

·         Saturdays: 8am – 1pm

·         Sunday and Bank Holidays: No work

Bear in mind that one resident’s fun party is another resident’s sleepless night or disturbed weekend. Other common sources of noise nuisance are barking dogs or loud radios in the garden. Please be as considerate to your neighbours as you would wish them to be to you.

Roads

The scheduled works to repair potholes has been completed fully. The re-whitening of all on-road signage (20 MPH; arrows on speed humps etc) is currently being scheduled for later in June.

In order to complete all works in the most cost effective / least impact on vehicular movements basis, our contractor has requested a 7am start time. As an exception, the Board has agreed to this in order to see works completed in one full day. Once a precise date has been secured we will advise in the usual ways (including where works will start re early morning noise!)

Gates

The recent heatwave caused two of our gates to fail but these gates are now, once again, functional.

The gates and adjoining picket fences will be being cleaned, repaired and repainted in a rolling programme (one gate at a time) starting in mid-June during which time the gate being worked on will be placed to “hold open”.  Please drive extra carefully whilst this work is being carried out.

Board Changes

We are pleased to announce that Alison Beech has joined the Board as our secretary and communications officer. Verity will remain on the team until a handover has been completed. We remain in need of volunteers to allow rotation out of the Board.

Best wishes,

The OWRA Board.
